Jute
Introduction : Jute is called the golden fibre of
Bangladesh. It is the
main cash crop of Bangladesh.
Method of cultivation : Jute grows well in moist low land. Farmers plough
the land well in March and April. Then seeds are sound. When the Juts plants
are cut down and put into water to rote. After some days they are rotten. Then
they are washed and dried in the sun and sold in the market.
Where grown : Jute grows mainly in Bangladesh. It grows in some parts of India.
Usefulness : Jute is a very useful thing. Ropes, bags, sacks, carpets,
paper, clothes,etc. are made from it. Jute stalks are used as a fuel.
Conclusion : Exporting Jute to many foreign countries,
Bangladesh earns a lot
of money. So, we should take proper care for its growth.
